Damn looks really good! Great job so far, can't wait to see what it looks like when it's further along. That US base was probably one of my favorite layouts, glad to see it making a return. Would it be possible to make all the buildings in town have lighting? I remember it having ridiculously dark spots, I think it ruins the combat gameplay a lot with people just hiding in dark corners and camping there the entire war. Having all the objectives have lit up lighting makes them infinitely better in my opinion. Don't know how similar this map is to v3, but I kind of like the idea of replacing the globe: (forget what the name of it was lul) with an actual tower structure in similar shape to it, kind of like how Silo was on delta I think it was? Can't remember what map that was on. Maybe add a similar one near afghan base so it evens it out, rather than just have one nearer the US base. Might be a dumb idea, but just trying to spitball lol. Gl with map though looks good so far.

oh thank god, 33% felt so goddamn fast. Hopefully this'll make it more balanced between being able to move to OBJ's faster, without everyone also moving at the speed of light lmao. This is gonna be interesting to see in game, I'm definitely gonna get some 2016 flashbacks lmao. Can't throw my nades willy nilly know though sadge, hopefully I remember this is a thing before I accidentally kill 4 of my own teammates and get banned lul.

Yeah HDR is always hell to work with, but makes maps look so much better lol. It looks really good with that skybox too though, hopefully you can figure out why it causes models to glow. One thing I am a little concerned about basing from the photos is the darkness in some areas, especially the caves. In my opinion large areas that are dark gives the defender so much of an advantage and makes sieging areas very difficult to do, it makes the PvP feel annoying. Might just be a me thing, but I remember it being a huge annoyance on Embassy on the map that was on before the one we're currently on. Just wanted to throw this out here so it's known lol.

Yeah unfortunately there's always going to be those people who always single out something they don't like it and make a big deal out of it. Overall very exciting update, can't wait to see how this new war type plays. Also can't wait to see how well the optimizations will be for FPS, as I think that's something a lot of people currently struggle with right now on the server. Also being able to toggle donation weapons? Holy shit I've been wanting this for literal years lmao. These current & upcoming qol changes + gameplay additions have got me very hyped ngl. Thanks for the hard work Garnut.

Damn looks amazing so far, really liking the colors fall aesthetic. The contrast from the trees and the ground with the leaf textures looks nice. Can’t wait to see how the gameplay will change with more trees for cover and whatnot, gonna be nice change of pace I bet.

If you are having issues with a lot of dead space/"no mans land" type areas, why not just remove the dead space? I've been told you're struggling with adding new things to fill the space, but instead of having to fill up that space with superficial buildings and whatnot just remove it all together. It might take some fucking around with displacements and whatnot as well as moving some things around so the map still flows fluidly, but I don't feel like anyone is going to be able to come up with suitable things to fill that void up. It makes more sense to me to just remove the space and make the map more compact (which with this map is a good thing). -

Is there any estimate on when the part two of the update is coming out or if there will be a hotfix update? There's a couple of issues at the moment with Afghanistan from what I've gathered: Group chat doesn't work at all for the entire side, we're forced to use the /channel and /radio commands at the moment. Both Arsonist and the LMG class for Tali do not have their main weapons, rendering the classes useless and we can't do tryouts for them. I don't know if you're already aware of these issues, so I just wanted to make a post pointing them out.

I have quite a decent amount of hammer experience if you're ever in need of someone to do edits on maps in the future and can't afford the time to do it yourself. Not sure if you're comfortable handing out vmfs though which is understandable. Just putting the offer out there if interested Some maps I made I guess for my portfolio lul (all surf related obviously but yeah)

When my HDD failed to startup/be detected in BIOS I got this "SATA III to USB 3.0" adapter so my PC could read it like a USB flashdrive lol. Could be worth a shot to see if you can get any of your files off of the drive. Worked wonders for me when my HDD corrupted, thought i lost all of my vmf files but I was able to transfer them off using the adapter luckily. -

I've also played on most if not all of the previous maps that have been on the server, so I know what problems to look for that have been on the previous maps as well. Albeit I haven't been on the server in a minute, I still would love to help playtest this since I am heavily addicted to mapping in source lol so I think I could learn a lot from this as well.
